Back A Yard - San Jose

Just found out recently about this location and couldn't wait to check it out. 

There's a big menu posted on top like those in the fast food place but then as we were deciding what to order, the nice guy behind the counter invited us to his counter and helped us order. He had with him a similar laminated menu. So this is what we got : combo chicken and pork meal, combo salmon and chicken meal, corn festivals, 1 botol of pineapple soda and 1 glass of mango passion juice.

We brought our drinks with us and sat down to wait for our orders to be prepared. The decor of the restaurant was pretty simple. There were two huge murals covering most of the wall. The murals depicted market place of Jamaica. The drinks were refreshing and very tropical.

After around 15 minutes we finally got our orders. The combo meals came with rice and beans mix, salad and plaintain. Oh..the plaintain was soo good. Sweet and rich. Of those three types of jerk, I liked the chicken best, salmon and least was pork. For some reason the pork jerky didn't absorb as much taste of the jerk seasoning as the other two. And make sure to try the tiny container of dipping sauce that came with the platter. Mind you it was pretty spicy !

The corn festivals were pretty interesting. I don't know what to expect. But they tasted almost like donuts without any glazed or topper. I liked them as dessert.
