Sunshine Suites Hotel - Hanoi, Vietnam

We found this hotel and got the reservation through Agoda. But when we arrived there we realized that there were at least another two different hotels that had names similar to our hotel. Not too sure if they were affiliated.

We found out from Tripadvisor people were saying that it's best to reserve airport transfer from hotel. It's around $15 but saves a lot of hassle. Learning from experience when we went to Ho Chi Minh we kinda agreed on that. So we requested a pick up. From airport Noi Bai to Old Quarter took about 45 minutes. It wasn't that far but it's the traffic.

Check in was a breeze. Front desk didn't even ask to keep our passports. That's a plus. She even gave us suggestion on where to go eat and gave us a copy of a local map. She also asked if we plan on taking any tour. Wow she beat us to it. She showed us a few tour services but said she recommended one company. We went with her recommendation and paid for the price. It was USD35 for a day trip to Halong Bay for the following day.
View to the street from our room

The bell boy showed us to our room. He was also very friendly. We then got ourselves ready and went down to look for lunch. As we walked out we met our friendly bell boy again and he also told us the same restaurant and even walked us there. Too bad we forgot to ask his name.

Back to our room. We reserved a deluxe city view room. The room was spacious with laminate wood floor. Room slipper were also provided. There were one big window at the back of our bed and two medium size windows. One of the windows could be opened so we could hear the noise from the street. But our room was on the fifth floor so with the windows closed there was no noise at all.

The bathroom was a bit interesting. The bath tub was also a jacuzzi. We didn't try to see if it was working. But there was no hanger for the shower head and the bath tub almost stood an inch or so from the wall so it was a bit tricky to shower at first.

Wifi was no problem. We noticed a router hung just a few feet away from our room. Each floor had one router so connection was fast. Really useful for keeping us updated with what's going on back home.

All in all we were pleased with our room. And we would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to our friends.
