Bangkok Taste - San Jose

Make sure to print out the coupon. They don't take online coupon.

Did a take out a few nights ago at this place. We ordered sweet and sour chicken, garlic pork and pad thai. I noticed there was a 15% off coupon on their website and noted to print it out.

On the way there, I realized that we forgot to print out the coupon. Hubby said to present the coupon on his mobile phone. So we gave it a try when we got there but we were told that it had to be a hard copy coupon. Darn it. I don't know what is the difference but I wasn't going to question them on that. They are after all a small business.



Anyhow, let's talk about the food. The winner was the garlic pork. It was grilled marinated sliced pork. Can't quite tell the spices they used but it was well marinated served on bed of iceberg lettuce. The pad thai was surprisingly better than expected. It had the burnt wok smell to it. And the loser was sweet and sour chicken. Yes, there was a reason why we ordered it. Our nephew loved orange chicken so we thought we ordered something closed to that. Unfortunately it wasn't even closed. The sauce for the sweet and sour chicken was so diluted it was almost like a soup instead of thick sauce.

We kinda gambled by ordering challenging dishes. I guess we would have better luck when we ordered 'safe' dishes like green curry. Just like pad thai turned out to be better than expected.

I don't think we'll be going back pretty soon.
