Komeda's Coffee - Nagoya, Japan
We found out about Komeda's Coffee on one of Youtube videos talking about breakfast in Nagoya. So I took note that we needed to check it out ourselves. Though we had breakfast in hotel that morning when I saw that there was a Komeda's I told hubby that we needed to stop there.
There were quite a few locations around our hotel since we stayed quite close to Nagoya Station. I believe there was one inside the station. But the one we went to was at Uni Mall, an underground shopping just outside of the station.
It was a rainy day about 9 am in the morning. The place was busy but not completely full. It's not too big but it had a unique lay out. There were three different levels of seating. The one closer to the door was on ground level, then there were steps to the middle level with a few more tables and more steps to a higher level again with more tables. The higher level was closer to the kitchen which was the highest and required more steps up from the highest level.
We got a table at the highest level and was able to see almost the entire restaurant. They had English menu though we could have ordered from the regular menu because it had pictures on it. Hubby got the coffee set for JPY500 he could pick a drink with with toast and red bean paste or toast with egg, if I remembered it correctly. And I didn't need coffee so I ordered the dessert of a danish bread with ice cream ! It looked so good on picture so I couldn't resist it. They even come in two sizes, regular and mini.
The toast was made with a really thick bread with butter on it. The red bean paste was served separately on the side. My mini danish bread was such a cute size with ice cream and topped off with a cherry. To make it even better the danish bread was still very warm and fragrant. When we cut down the bread we could see the layer inside almost like croissant but not that fluffy. And the warm danish bread went well with the cold ice cream. Sinfully yummy.
