Takoyaki Party In Osaka - Jepang
Last year in Osaka we had list of other stuffs to try. But this year it's our second time so we were more relaxed. Since takoyaki is one of the must haves for Osaka, we decided to go check out a few just for fun.
Takoyaki Wanaka
This one was located close to Namba station, just outside Takashimaya on one of the side street. Just google Takoyaki Wanaka and follow Google's direction. Beware thought that there are another takoyaki store just next to it. We didn't try the other one though they were also pretty busy.
Out of the three takoyaki stores that we tried that day I liked this one the best. I think the takoyaki was pretty dry and not mushy inside. The octopus was tasty. There's some seating area behind the store. Just pay and get your takoyaki first before going to the seating area.
Takohachi Namba Store
Takohachi showed up as one of the best takoyaki in Osaka. So we were intrigued and challenged to try. When we googled it, one showed up close to us near the Namba Station. This one was challenging to even be found. In the end we found it as one of the food stalls inside Osaka Takashimaya store (I think basement 1).
Being in the mall, I think, we only got the prepackaged one. So I didn't find them as fresh or even hot. It's nice to eat since it was not burning our mouths but it didn't feel complete. We ordered a combo takoyaki and ikayaki which is an octopus pancake. Both came out okay. I think they would have been better if freshly made. This one came out second on our takoyaki spot for the day.
Takoyaki at Shinsekai
We got this takoyaki during dinner time. It was our last night in Osaka and we thought hey we haven't had enough takoyaki yet. Let's try this one. I didn't know the name of the store. It was just one of the many restaurants in Shinsekai area. This one had counter for ordering. But we must buy the ticket from the vending machine outside.
I don't know whether we picked the wrong flavor, but it was too salty. This one was the least favorite out of the three we tried that day.
