Sky Cafe - Philadelphia, PA

On our trip to Orlando, Florida this time we stopped a couple of days in Philadelphia to visit an old friend. He has been asking us to stop by and finally we made that trip. The first night there we were brought to an Indonesian restaurant located in a mall sharing parking lot with an Asian supermarket, Vietnamese restaurant, beauty salon, etc. Imagine the combination. We were lucky we got there way earlier than normal dinner hour. Parking can really be a nightmare there.

I ordered nasi uduk which is coconut rice serves with fried chicken, fried tempeh, tofu, some sambal and veggie. Hubby ordered nasi padang package which included beef rendang. We also got to try their chicken satay and fried kwetiau (rice noodle). I heard their ribs and dry noodle is not bad too. Too bad we didn't have a chance to go back. The food was in my opinion as authentic as it can be for an Indonesian restaurant in Philadelphia. Some could do better but in general they were better than any other Indonesian restaurants I have been to in the States.

Restaurant is pretty tiny and filled up fast. By the time we were done there were lots of people waiting outside. Make sure to go early for dinner.
