Marmalade Cafe - Thousand Oaks, CA
Suggested by a friend to meet up here for lunch as we were visiting southern California on our road trip. Thousand Oaks is just outside of LA. Never stopped by here before because we were always rushing pass it on the way to LA. But this stop gave us a glimpse of Thousand Oaks that we never knew before.
This Marmalade Cafe is located at The Promenade at Westlake Village. It has some outdoor and indoor seating. The outdoor seating looked interesting actually with shaded areas of trees and little ponds with tiny waterfall setting. Very cozy and comfy. But unfortunately we didn't get to sit outside this time. 😝
As we walked inside we passed the host station on the right hand of the entrance. Then as the host led us to our table, we passed the bar on the left hand side. Turned around the divider in the room to the other side of the room where the booths are located. We got one almost to the corner.
I chose burger with a side of fries. Hubby felt like having sweet breakfast item so he ordered french toast. Our fried ordered fish tacos and her companion ordered burger with a side of salad. For drinks we opted for water. Though there were alcoholic drinks available on the menu for those who enjoy a glass or two with their meals.
Our orders came within normal time. My burger was nice, I asked for it to be well done and it was. The fries was nice and dry. I finished almost everything. Of course, hubby stole my fries. But I also tried his french toast. His french toast was three pieces of egg coated bread toasted to perfection with some sprinkle powdered sugar and topped with slices of banana, strawberries and blueberries.
The indoor sitting was a bit too close and the noise could get a bit overwhelming when we tried to carry conversation. But nonetheless we enjoyed our meals and companion.
