Fairfield Inn & Suites - Rosemead, CA
After a few days in SF Bay Area, we drove down to So Cal to meet up another set of friends. They flew in from East Coast and stayed at this hotel. That's how we found this hotel.
The last few times we were in LA area we have chosen area around Monterey Park. But that's been more than five years ago. So after checking the location of the hotel we decided to stick to the same hotel. It will make it easier to hang out.
We made it to the hotel around 4 pm and the person behind the check in desk was friendly and helpful. Though it came to our surprise that there was additional charge for parking. Really ? This was the only hotel we stayed this time during our whole trip that actually charged for parking.
This hotel had the best bathroom among the five hotels we stayed. It's spacious with standing shower. The water pressure was powerful. Though I was surprised that it didn't come with magnifying glass mirror. I found that very useful.
Our room was on the third floor with a rolling door that opens to a tiny balcony. Almost like a Romeo-Juliet balcony. Not much used for it though we enjoyed the fresh air when we opened the rolling door. And our room faces the east so we got some morning sun.
We were notified by the front desk person that the hotel is in process of transitioning how the breakfast would be served. We may find the breakfast served at the area adjacent to the reception or we could just request for it to go. The following morning we went down for breakfast and didn't see breakfast other than coffee and tea (which was available 24/7). So we went to the reception area where there was a posted breakfast menu. It was quite varied from oatmeal, banana, yogurt to hot breakfast like muffin with egg and sausage.
