Hinodeya Ramen - Campbell, CA

It's such a coincidence that we found this ramen place and on the same day our friends suggested to meet here. We were excited to try it out since it's been a while we actually had ramen.

We agreed to meet pretty early for dinner, around 5:30. Surprisingly they were quite busy even at that time. We were greeted with some drum as we were walked to our table in the patio. I love that. 😍

The patio area was not completely open area but was covered all the way except for about a few feet above our head where it's not enclosed. As soon as we were seated, we were encouraged to scan the QR code to order. We started looking at the menu but still waited for our friends to arrive.

I chose Hinedoya ramen, hubby chose spicy miso butter corn. The Hinedoya ramen is served with dashi based broth with noodle that was quite thick. The topping included was half  marinated boiled egg, seasoned bamboo shoot, char siu pork, baby spinach and a sheet of nori. I found the noodle a bit too thick for me and too filling. I think I would have preferred a thinner noodle. Hubby's spicy miso butter corn was also dashi based broth. I think that's what set this ramen house different from other ramen which is usually pork based broth. The dashi based broth is a little bit lighter. For the spicy miso butter ramen, the topping were a sliver of butter, corn, seasoned bamboo shoot, half of marinated boiled egg, char siu pork and slices of fish cake.

Our friends chose zen ramen and creamy ramen. These were vegan ramen. The vegan ramen broth was made with shitake mushroom and sesame. The topping for the creamy ramen were fried tofu sheet, fried kale, bell pepper, a slice of buttercup squash, shitake mushroom. The topping for the zen ramen were similar with additional of a few goji berries. Those looked like some interesting ramen. Maybe next time.

We also shared takoyaki and chicken karaage.
