Sapp Coffee Shop - Los Angeles, CA

Every time we visit Los Angeles area we try to stop by Thai Town. According to Wiki, this LA Thai Town is the only one recognized Thai Town in the US. This Thai Town was established officially in 1999. The street contains plenty of Thai restaurants, businesses and snack shops.

This noodle place has been around a long time. At least they kept the name the same so I am assuming the ownership is still the same. It's been around ever since we knew of Thai Town which was  at least more than 10 years ago. This time we decided to stop by again because they open early at 8 am ! Not too many restaurants open that early in the morning.

We were told best not to get on highway until 9:30 and before 1:30. It's amazing to see how heavy the traffic gets even on weekend. We reminded ourselves that's one of the reasons why we moved out of California. Anyhow, by the time we got there the place was pretty busy. It's hardly 10 am but I guess we were not the only ones hungry for Thai food in the morning.

I loved how they served our hot water in stainless steel glasses. And before we sat long our orders arrived. Hubby got pad see ew (stir fry rice noodle) with pork. The noodle came with chinese broccoli (gailan) and egg with a very nice tan color. In fact, we could see almost the charred portion of the veggies and noodle here and there. The smell was oh wonderful. Suits hubby's taste.

My order was stir fry vermicelli with pork (pad woon sen). Not too many restaurants actually offer stir fry vermicelli. I'm not sure why. No demand ? I ordered my noodle with pork and it came with green cabbage, cut small celery and onion. The topping was a bunch of chopped cilantro. It's delicious though not exactly what I was hoping for.
