Eating in Kota Kinabalu - Malaysia (Part 2)

We eyed this restaurant since the first night we arrived on Gaya Street. Unfortunately this restaurant opens pretty late. So we finally made it there on our last day. The one thing that caught our eyes was the rendang on top of dry noodle. We made sure to order that and other things.

I had high hope as this restaurant claimed to serve Indonesian Padang style food. But after trying their dishes I don't think their dishes are authentic enough. Not for me at least. Maybe it's more adjusted to local flavor.

I think its rendang wasn't quite Padang style which is usually darker and more flavorful.

I think this was balado eggs - deep fried hard boiled eggs with sambal chili

Stir fry mix veggies

Nasi lemak

We were going to go try out a laksa place on Gaya Street. But alas, by the time we got there, that place was closed. Some of the restaurants on Gaya Street are meant for breakfast so they don't open until dinner time. Ori Kitchen Resipi happened to be closed by so we walked in there.

The restaurant was pretty quiet with only another table occupied. The staffs didn't seem to have flow. So I was a bit skeptical with the food. But at the moment we just didn't feel walking around looking for another restaurant.

The stir fry mixed veggies turned out to be great with some caramelized taste. Nasi lemak was not bad. In general it turned out to be pretty good actually. Recommended.
