Food on Our Thailand Road Trip (part 5)

Day Eleventh : Pattaya City

Technically our last day of road trip in Pattaya. There were a few food stalls just on the beach road side entrance of Central Pattaya. We bought a varieties of food there and also at the food stalls around the atrium side of Central Pattaya. At the time there was some event going on with stage set up and live music playing in the evening.

Day Twelfth : Pattaya City - Chonburi

There was no proper stopping for lunch other than stopping to purchase some snacks. Dinner was at Chonburi Night Market.

Chonburi night market is an outdoor market an open square located near the Cholmarkwithi Bridge. Most of them are small vendors with a few restaurants set up with tables and chairs. One could order food at any of these restaurants and be able to sit down and enjoy the food there with other purchases from other vendors at the night market.

We ordered grilled fish and prawns along with a mini jim jum hot pot. This jim jum hotpot was served on a clay pot on top of charcoal stove. The hotpot took a while to get to a boiling point. But once it reached the boiling point then it's easy to enjoy. The mini hot pot only cost THB 250 (USD 7.34) and it came with a platter of sliced pork, chicken, squid and a few prawns. The veggies were free flow.

Day Thirteenth : Chonburi - Phitsanulok

We had dinner at this restaurant that was popular with locals. It was a hot afternoon even though the sun didn't seem to show itself anymore. So we picked the air conditioned room instead.

We ordered a few stir fry veggies, braised vermicelli with prawns, fried fish with sweet sour sauce, stir fry fish with spicy herbs and deep fried soft shell crabs. All food were delicious. I wish the fish was a bit more spicy instead of sweet. Total bill THB 900 (USD 26.42).
