Overnight at Haneda - Tokyo, Japan
Our first stop on this Asia Trip was Haneda, Tokyo, Japan. It's actually a transit but it's a 15 hour transit ! 😢 To make it interesting, we decided to get out of the terminal and booked a hotel instead. That transit of 15 hours turned out to be eventful and we managed to try a few food that we missed.
Henn Na Hotel Haneda
Located about 3.5 km away from Haneda airport. One could take a bus or train there. We opted to take train and it was only 3 stations away on Keikyu line. Cost of ticket per person was JPY190 (USD 1.30).
This hotel is unique in a way that there was no person manning the reception area. There were a robot girl and a robot dinosaur. 😅 Not that you need to communicate with them. There were a few machines there enough for three groups to check in at the same time. One machine enable us to scan passport and the other would issue the key card and accept payment if needed. Ours was already prepaid so we only received a receipt showing no payment received.
Our room was bright and cozy with a double bed against the corner. On top of the head of bed was a window with view to the neighborhood. On the other corner was a built-in yellow color shelf which housed a flat screen TV. One of the panel of the shelf could be opened into a table. Tada ! It's a nice setting for small area.
The bathroom was tiny and seemed built-in as well. Typical Japanese bathroom with a short bath tub but amazing toilet with fancy bidet system.

Yokohama Ramen Jyoujyouya
This outlet was chosen as we were craving ramen and this one was the closest one open at the time. It seems that most ramen places open for dinner (after 6 pm). We were tired then and felt that our jetlag may catch up with us anytime.
This place just like a lot of eateries in Japan uses machine to place order. The machine is usually by the door. The machine here is an older style so it doesn't offer English language. We used our cell phone to do translation and then placed our orders.
As it turned out, both bowls looked exactly the same. I suggested one more expensive one and one cheaper one thinking that the more expensive one may have more toppings. But the more expensive one turned out to be just bigger size bowl with more noodles and perhaps a bigger slice of pork. 😂
