Rome Restaurant 羅馬餐廳 - Mui Wo, Hong Kong

On our first dinner at Lantau Island, Hong Kong, we went to Rome Restaurant. It's located near the Mui Wo ferry terminal. Almost across from it. In fact from my observation, life seems to evolve near the ferry terminal. Market is pretty close by as well. Most restaurants and a few banks (including HSBC) are located in the area as well.

Back to the restaurant. It's a small restaurant which could probably fit about 50 people. When we went there it's dinner time and Sunday evening. So most likely it's the busiest time. We waited outside to be seated. There were a few groups waiting as well.

We ordered a tofu dish, a chicken with soy sauce, stir fry veggies and stir fry rice noodle (Singapore style rice noodle). When I first went to Vancouver, I was curious about this Singapore style rice noodle but then I realize it's a Hong Kong dish somehow created by mixing a bit curry powder to stir fry vermicelli. Not sure what's Singaporean about it. 😐

I saw a few tables actually ordered pork chop on a platter. It's quite a sight ! Corn on the cob on the bottom, side of fries and huge pork chop on top. The sauce came on a separate saucer. 😛
