Room with A View : Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbor - Hong Kong

Hyatt Centric is marketed as modern boutique hotel with sophisticated furnishing. This hotel of ours in Hong Kong island is located in the neighborhood of North Point.

MTR (subway)
Just a stone throw away from North Point MTR station. Make sure to take exit A1 (at the time Google maps suggested A2). Warning though that most MTR station exits require climbing a set of stairs. So travelling with big suitcases pose a challenge.

After you take exit A1, walk to the left to the corner of Java St and Shu kuk st and cross the road. Then walk along the sidewalk following along side of Shu kuk st which curve slightly to the left. You would be able to see the entrance to hotel on your right.

There's a tiny lobby at the ground floor. We didn't use that lobby because when we first arrived we used a different entrance. There's a bigger lobby on second floor. There were also a few machines for self-checked in. Unfortunately these machines were not very obvious to us when we were at the lobby.

Bus
MTR is convenient to take and cooler for hot humid Hong Kong weather. But after the trip from Central ferry terminal to our hotel we realized that MTR is not a solution to take 2 big suitcases to airport. Not unless you want to break your arm or back.

Second option would be to take bus. Fortunately, our hotel Hyatt Centric is very close to end point of bus A11 (North Point). Bus A11 will go all the way to the airport. Make sure to take it from North Point Terminal to get a higher chance of getting a seat. We took the bus around 7:30 in the morning but there was a long line waiting for the bus already. And more passengers to pick up along the way.

Taxi
Taxi is best because it's door to door. We also have this mode on transportation in mind in case it rains. But it was a nice weather so we reserved this for another time.

Our room it's considered spacious for Hong Kong standard. Nice decor and looked pretty new or well maintained. The windows are slanted to face the water. I noticed all the windows on our tower facing the same direction. Great concept to enable nice view for all occupants. By the window was a day bed. Perfect for lounging with a cup of joe while reading a book or browsing social media.

Bathroom has dirty marble/granite for both floor and wall. Bathroom felt a bit cramped but it's clean and no smell.
