Polobund - Jakarta, Indonesia

Found this restaurant while searching for restaurant at PIK Avenue. I thought the reviews were mostly positive. The menu looked pretty interesting so we decided to give it a try.

It was a weekday night so the mall was pretty quiet. The restaurant itself wasn't busy either. Just another table occupied when we reached there around 6 pm. We picked a few items from the menu. Some good 'ol har gow and shu mai along with beancurd rolls. With that we also ordered some unique one like HK baked rice.

The har gow curry was standard. Nothing stood out. The truffled shumai was fine. I liked the beancurd rolls though. It's crispy and piping hot. The Hong Kong BBQ combo was a disaster. The platter consisted of bbq chicken, charsiu and bbq pork. But the bbq pork was cut very thickly. I guess they tried to be unique on that but our pork that night got thick layer of fat. And when it's hard for us to enjoy bbq pork with a thick layer of fat. The charsiu and bbq chicken was standard.

The baked rice was interesting. It's a play of pasta by using rice as a replacement with marinara sauce topped with mozzarella and baked till melted and golden color.

The beef brisket noodle was not bad. Flavorful.

Our total bill came to a total of IDR 873,900 (USD 55.68) inclusive of service charge of 7.5%. I don't think we'll be back anytime soon.
