Lou Wong Restoran Toge Ayam - Ipoh, Malaysia

For this trip to Ipoh I actually didn't do any special research in terms of food. The last few trips I have used a new method. Using Google maps and just searched for any close by restaurants and then checked their ratings. This was how we found this restaurant.

This restaurant is actually not that big. But in the evening, the road around the front and side of the restaurant is being used as an outdoor seating area. Tables and chairs were all out which worked out fine for most people as sitting outside in general in the evening is cooler. There's not much traffic passing through so not very dusty either.

As soon as we grabbed a table, a staff brought over a menu with Chinese and English characters. We ordered one chicken rice, a plate of chicken for two and one serving of chicken livers. Our drinks were brought out. A few more minutes later we received our orders. They were pretty efficient.

As we enjoyed our meal, people poured in. Before were done, there's a line forming waiting to be seated. We were pretty lucky as we didn't have to wait at all. The verdict ? The chicken was soft with a bit of tug. I found out that most chicken restaurants in Ipoh like to use free range chicken which tend to be a bit chewy. I like that type of chicken as well. The rice was flavorful without being oily.
