Boon Hua - Limbang, Malaysia
This hotel was across from Purnama Hotel. First floor used as coffee shop which opens for breakfast and lunch. First floor closes down around 3. Second floor is the sit down restaurant which opens around 6 for dinner. We didn't know about this until we got there around 6 pm and was surprise to see the restaurant closed. Luckily I saw the second floor light all on and decided to look for an entrance to second floor.
Just like Purnama Hotel, this restaurant has been around a while as well. The chairs were covered with fabric cover which didn't look very clean. But the restaurant was busy so that's a good sign.
I didn't see the menu. That's not important because the waitress was like an ordering machine. She mentioned what's fresh for the day and we just agreed to it or asked for customization. 😋
I only remembered braised pork belly with preserved vegetables (梅菜扣肉) and the steamed fish with plenty of chopped garlic. The steamed fish reminded me of Thai style fish but the non spicy version. Delicious and fresh. The stir fry veggie was bidin with garlic. The bidin turned out to look like pakis. So the veggies that I thought was pakis all this time turned out to be bidin.
