Mee Hiris China Muslim - Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

We arrived in Malaysia on Saturday evening. Rush hour with strong rain. The first Grab rejected us. The second Grab played around with us and didn't even answer our chat. So in the end we cancelled the trip. Finally we got a ride on Air Asia move app. It took almost two hours to reach our Airbnb. By the time we reached our Airbnb it was dark already.

We got in our unit with no issue and then started looking around for food. The focus was on a mall quite close to our Airbnb at H2O Residences. We saw that mall earlier so it didn't seem to be that far.

The walk there wasn't exactly a walk in the park. The road was dark and wet. It was still raining albeit not strong anymore. So we walked slowly and finally reached Citta Mall. I was happy to see that the mall was actually alive and got plenty of options for food. My eyes lit up on the picture of noodle soup with braised beef. After looking at other available options we finally decided to walk in Mee Hiris China Muslim.

The restaurant was brightly lit up and not too busy. When we walked in a waiter brought us menu but then we could place our order online. After careful consideration, we decided on a bowl of pulled noodle with braised beef (mee tarik with braised beef), chicken with chili and a plate of dumplings.

We couldn't wait for all our orders to arrive before taking photos. First because we were hungry. And beside the first one that came out was noodle soup with braised beef. It won't taste good if we waited too long. So we started digging in and we were surprised with how good it was. The soup was just right and not too salty. There was a good balance of saltiness and sweetness in the broth. The noodle was just the right texture and not too mushy. The beef was tender.

The next one that came out was the chicken. I didn't expect the chicken to be fried with chili. I actually thought it would be braised or stir fry. But this fried chicken with chili was very tasty with just a hint of spiciness. Fragrant with ginger and garlic.

And then the last one was the beef dumplings. The size of the dumplings were smaller than what I expected. But I think it was the right combination of dough and filling. The filling was seasoned enough that I didn't feel that I needed the chili oil it came with.
