One Market @ One Nimman - Chiang Mai, Thailand
This is our second time to One Nimman. The first time we took our nephews when they came to visit us. At the time we stayed near by on Nimman so it makes sense to check out the neighborhood. When we went there the first time we already ate so wasn't too hungry. We didn't see anything interesting and so were our guests. But this time we made an effort to go there again for lunch. I remembered a few things that seemed to deserve a second look.
Day time this place looks bright and cheerful. While night time it looks more intimate and mysterious. 😎 When we came at night there was live music but no live music at day time. Not sure if the live music was just on certain days.
We walked one round first before deciding on what to order. I wanted to try egg noodle with braised pork trotter. Hubby took a while to decide and finally decided on stir fry noodle with gravy (rad na) with pork. I saw a vendor that does oyster omelette and immediately put an order since I have been looking for it.
My egg noodle with braised pork trotter was not as good as expected. Usually the braised pork trotter was more sweet. But this one was salty and not just that, it's too salty ! 😒 I didn't enjoy eating it though I was looking forward to it. The oyster omelette looked great but taste wise was disappointing. Maybe I was expecting a Penang style oyster omelette ? This omelette had the oysters covered in chewy sticky starchy dough. Perhaps less starch would have been better ?
Hubby wasn't impressed with his rad na either. He likes his stir fry noodle with burnt smell and this one was lacking that.
