Cà phê Nhật Nguyệt - Dalat, Vietnam
After our trip to Datanla Waterfall, we were hungry. Originally we were looking for this cafe that supposedly was by the lake within walking distance from Truc Lam Buddhist Monastery. But the only path that seemed possible was closed off. We were wondering whether it was perhaps close for the day ?
So we went back to town and looked around for food near our hotel. In one of the alleys we saw this sign of a cafe and menu posted. The menu looked interesting so we walked in. It was quiet but there was a man there. He didn't quite speak English but motioned to us in. So we followed him in and he climbed up the staircase. I thought perhaps the cafe was on second floor that's why down here was quiet.
By the time we reached second floor, we realized that we have passed by this cafe before. The second floor is actually the entrance facing the other road which is higher than the alley we walked in from. The furniture here was wood and heavy. Looked a bit antique.
As we already looked at the menu, so we had no trouble deciding. I chose beef steak and hubby chose banh mi with beef stew. The beef steak was served with a small serving of fries and a sunny side up egg. It's tasty. I don't know if there was any option to do a medium well and I wasn't asked either. Only after the man left then I thought I should have asked for well done. But turned out I don't need to worry too much. I think it was leaning on well done. It's a bit chewy but the cut wasn't thick.
Hubby enjoyed his banh mi with beef stew (banh mi bo kho). The stew was flavorful and went well with the baguette.
