Kunming Nanping Pedestrian Street - Kunming, China
Located in Wuhua District, this 685-meter-long street is one of Kunming’s oldest commercial areas, often called the city’s “Wall Street” due to its historical role as a finance, commerce, and entertainment center since the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1937–1945).
We know our hotel is close by to Nanping Pedestrian Street but since it was our first day, I haven't got accustomed to using Baidu map yet. Google map was not working well in Kunming. After our lunch, we thought of walking around in the area. I remembered one video showing rose pastries so I told hubby to look for it. As we were following our map going through a small alley, all of a sudden the end of the alley opens into a busy street with people milling around. I was in awe ! 😍
There were plenty of eateries and street food on this street. Also many shops that sell souvenirs and also gem stones. We did find the rose pastries shop and many others similar to that one. It seems that the products are pretty similar though I'm pretty sure they'd tell you that they have the special family recipe. 😎 We tried a piece of the rose pastry. It's quite interesting. Flaky pastry with fragrant rose filling.
