We just happened to be walking pass all these shops on the way back to our Airbnb at Riverine. There were quite a lot of people eating there mainly seniors. They hung out and maintain their social life. We picked a table shared with an old lady who happily asked us to sit down.

I got some dishes with rice and hubby got his favorite noodle soup, Sarawak laksa. By now I lost track how many bowls of laksa he had. 😁

That day I tried a new dish that I liked a lot. It's called ayam masak merah. It literally means red sauce chicken. The redness came from canned tomato among other spices. The dish came out a bit on the sweeter side and savory as well. Very nice.

We visited this food court twice and both times were evening. Day vendors and night vendors could be different some times. All we tried here was this one vendor that sells stir fry. He does stir fry dishes, rice and noodle. All very well done.

We ordered ginger pork stir fry, fried rice noodle (char kway teow) and anchovy fried rice (nasi goreng ikan bilis). I especially liked their ginger pork stir fry. If pork is not on your diet, try chicken. The taste of the ginger was quite pronounced. You could order it with rice or a dish on its own.

I was intrigued to try this food court as it was advertised as serving Chinese dishes. But then a few times when we passed by it was not open. So I thought maybe that food court has been closed down. Until one day we walked pass in the evening and saw it open. We then made time to give it a visit.

We saw a chicken rice stall there. But since we could find chicken rice almost everywhere we skipped that. There was a stall that sells dumplings next to it. I ordered a portion of boiled pork chives dumplings. If boiling dumplings is not your cup of tea, try the fried ones.

We then went to look at the other stall, and the owner came and told us he did food of North Eastern China. I chose mapo tofu and told him where we sat.

The dumplings came out first. They were plump and juicy. The skin was slightly thinner than I think the normal Chinese dumplings. Maybe these were fusion dumplings. 😁

We waited and waited for the mapo tofu. I honestly thought they forgot because at the time it wasn't very busy. Finally it was brought to our table. It looked legit but when we tried it's on the bland side. Like something was missing. Not impressed.
