Seoul Garden Buffet - Kuching, Malaysia
For July celebration this time, I was contemplating between the chinese restaurant downstairs at The Podium and buffet. In the end buffet won ! Maybe from now on I'll make sure to have buffet every July. 😂
Kuching though in some aspects feel like a big city but in term of buffet restaurants were still quite short of options. But Seoul Garden Buffet seemed like a promising option so that was my choice.
When we walked in we were asked what options do we want whether basic or superior. Superior gave us more options like prawns, wagyu beef and salmon. The price per person for Superior was RM 79 (USD 18.73). After paying then we were led to our table.
There were a few options for broth like mala soup, creamy jjampong, tomyum, kimchi, etc. We both chose tomyum. By the time we reached our table, our little pots have been filled with the tomyum broth and ready to be used. For the Superior pack, we were allowed all the cooked food, all the display meats, veggies, noodles, etc. Then to access the special items just for Superior, we had to scan the QR code given and chose what we wanted. Those special items would be prepared and once ready we would go to the counter to collect them. Just like that.
We went there for lunch and it was not busy. There were a few tables occupied but while we were there there were no additional patrons. So there was no line when getting food. Taking photos and videos was easy as well. In fact, even though there seemed to be quite a few staffs working but we pretty much served ourselves. We added the broth ourselves when our pots seem to go down too low. We changed the paper on our grill ourselves too. Not sure whether the staff saw us doing it but nobody came to help or offer help. 😝
Actually if you are not into seafood like big prawns and green mussels then you could probably be satisfied with Regular package. But if you like your beef, lamb and mussel then definitely go for Superior. I think it's worth it. Stay away from the heavy carb food like pasta and fried rice. They'll fill you up too fast.
