Restoran Choong Kee Kampar Claypot Rice - Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

This restaurant is in the vicinity of Atria SOFO Mall. Our Airbnb was close by so we visited this place twice during our stay.

Their menu was quite simple. Mainly claypot chicken rice with choice of varieties of sausage, chicken and salted fish. For the protein lovers like me, extra chicken, sausage or salted fish is possible. To complete the meal, one could order soup and or vegetables. 

Our first visit, we tried the chicken and sausage varieties claypot rice. We chose a small one and then we added pork stomach pepper soup along with bokchoi for the veggies. The vegetables was just a simple blanched vegetables served with oyster sauce topped with a bit fried shallot. The soup was deliciously peppery. I grew up with this soup so it was homely to me.

For both of us, we ordered a small order of claypot rice, soup and vegetables. It's enough when we don't feel like having too much rice. On our second visit though, we just focus on the claypot rice and didn't order other side dishes. So we ordered a large claypot rice instead and extra protein.
