Roberto's Cantina - Sunnyvale

I had dinner with some coworkers here on a weekday night. I got there kinda early before 6 pm and was brought to the back of the restaurant which was surprisingly more spacious than the front. This part of the restaurant had bigger table to accommodate bigger group while the front only have tables for 2 or 4.

One of my coworker asked about the picture on the website featuring a dish with prawns on a big cup. Our waiter said it's not on the menu but could put it together for us. We proceeded to order nachos - one vegetarian and the other one with carne asada.

Meanwhile some of us were already busy chomping on the complimentary chips and salsa. There were two different kind of salsa provided. The green one was mild but the red got some heat. But I found the salsa was a bit bland.

The nachos came on a plate with beans on the bottom, chips, melted cheese and then topped of with guacamole and small pieces of carne asada. It's quite a nice combo.

The majority people in our group ordered fajitas. I ordered prawn ala diabla (camarones ala diabla - prawn with spicy sauce). Another coworker ordered prawn al mojo de ajo (prawn with citrus garlic sauce).

My prawn dish came with beans, rice and tortilla. The prawns were big and plump and the sauce looked red and fiery. And indeed the sauce was so spicy. I am pretty good with chili heat but this one used habanero pepper so it was way spicier than other prawn ala diabla I had in the past. Though it was spicy but it felt like it was missing something. The whole thing was too spicy so I guess my tongue couldn't taste other flavor in it. I still think the similar dish at Tia Juana was better.
