Pork with hot garlic sauce
Our friend suggested to have lunch at this restaurant. The Szechuan restaurant is inside a building that used to be a grocery market on De Anza Blvd. Half of the building was rented out to different tenants selling food, clothing, insurance, jewelry, etc. Quite an interesting arrangement.

We selected house special tofu, stir fry string bean, Yang Chow fried rice, pork with hot garlic sauce, siao long bao (broth filled dumpling), spicy sausage. The spicy sausage was suggested by the waitress/owner's daughter. She said her mom's sausage was homemade and loved by a lot of their clients. They sell the raw one as well.

The house special tofu was medium firm tofu browned to golden color and stir fry with bacon and celery. The bacon wasn't very strong and was a nice touched to it. The stir fry spring bean was sweet, salty and crispy. The pork with hot garlic sauce wasn't very spicy but tasty. The pork was cut in string and then stir fry with sliced onion, celery and sweet garlicky sauce. The pork and string bean were my favorite. The tofu was pretty safe for the kids since it wasn't spicy. The spicy sausage was a bit too salty for me. It also had a sharp flavor that I couldn't quite place - maybe it was one of the spices. Fried rice was okay but it wasn't awesome. The dumpling was average. I wouldn't order that again. But our friend ordered that because the kids liked them.

I would go back again and try a few more of their spicy items. I kinda held myself back today since our friend's family aren't very keen of spicy food. I found out on Yelp that their Chengdu dumpling, sliced pork garlic soy sauce vinegar, and dry stir fried spicy chicken were good as well. Just thinking about it made me hungry again.
