Tai Pan - San Jose

So this Tai Pan is the one located on Saratoga Ave, it's a coincidence (or not ?) that it was again next to a Lion Supermarket (just like the one on Capitol Expressway). Judging from the sign I think they're related to the other Tai Pan. The selections seemed to be less and their place also smaller with two tables for eating in.

They offer combos for the price of $6.25 + tax. Not too bad. Our combo #5 consisted of 2 shumai, 2 pan fried daikon cake, simple chowmein and porridge. Hubby loves their simple stir fry noodle.

Shopping On Yesstyle

Picture taken from is an online clothing and accessories retailer based in Hong Kong. I knew about this website for quite a while. Most of the times I went there just to browse to get ideas for what's trendy or for my projects. Last weekend as usual I went to check it out and I noticed a bunch of stuffs on sale. It's sort of change of season sales kinda of thing. I ended up with a few items which I finally received yesterday.

I was a bit worry with this purchase since I had bad experience purchasing some clothing through Ebay before. Luckily most of them came out fine. I said 'most' because the cardigan on the picture had a trim that looked like gray but turned out to be blue and the pink was more pink. But that's minor I guess considering every monitor could display color that is a bit off due to settings.

Cheon Joo Young-yang Dolsot - Santa Clara

We have passed by this restaurant numerous times when we visit Lawrence Plaza. The place looked a bit intimidating because the romanization name didn't quite explain anything. One time we walked closer to take a look at it and we didn't see any menu with pictures. Pictures help when you don't quite know what you're ordering. ha..ha..

But my curiosity told me that we should check out that place. So I made sure I wrote down the name so I could look it up on Yelp. The reviews were quite convincing. Also pictures from other Yelpers helped me to decide what we wanted to order. to do your homework before checking out a new place.

Revisited : Pho Quan Ngon - San Francisco

We've been to this noodle place a couple of years back. For original posting, check it out here.

This time I noticed they also served chicken pho. Ever since we came back from our Hanoi trip I have been looking around for a good place for chicken pho. So far I haven't had any luck yet. Most the chicken pho that I tried had dry chicken meat. Not good eats.

I thought I gave the chicken pho a try since this place specialize in Hanoi style pho. The pho came with fresh noodle that was slightly wider than regular pho noodle. The chicken meat was white meat and juicy. I should say this was the closest taste to the chicken pho we had in Hanoi. So for those of you out there who were looking for chicken pho Hanoi style, go and check this place out.

I was too busy to take picture of my bowl of pho. :) So no pictures this time.

De Young Cafe - San Francisco

Located adjacent to the De Young Museum and across from the California Academy of Sciences, this cafe really has an excellent location. Sit down and peruse the menu when you have time or just stop by the refrigerated section by the cashier area to pick up something to go.
Soup of the day - seafood chowder

Me and a friend went there this weekend and the cafe was really busy. There was a line at the cashier area so we picked up a table first since my friend had a young baby with her. Checking out the menu I decided on the soup of the day since I just wanted something light. My friend chose the chopped salad. I paid at the cashier and got a number for our table so the food could be delivered later.
