Kampung Daun - Lembang, Bandung

Barbecue chicken served with cone shape rice
I came across this restaurant as I was researching Bandung for our trip. And then a friend also recommended to check out this place at night. But since I wasn't familiar with the area I decided it's better to go there for lunch.

The menu was surprisingly pretty big and covered pretty much everyone's palette. From traditional Sundanese cuisine like nasi timbel to pop cuisine like blackpepper beef. For us that were looking to try traditional Indonesian cuisine, the menu offered other ethnic cuisine like Soto Kudus (Javanese style chicken soup) and gurame with dabu-dabu sauce.

So ordering lunch for eight of us at Kampung Daun was quite easy. Some of their menu came with rice like nasi timbel (Sundanese style wrapped rice served with condiments) and ayam bakar (barbecue chicken). So I ordered a few dishes with chicken, added some dishes with soup and not to forget some veggie dishes to make it a complete and balanced meal. Please check out the pictures below.
Grilled banana leaf wrapped rice with condiments and fried chicken (nasi bakar timbel)

Oxtail soup (sup buntut)

Manado style deep fried gurame fish (gurame goreng saus dabu-dabu)

Stir fry morning glory (tumis kangkung)

Corn fritter (bakwan jagung)

Mixed veggie salad (karedok)

Deep fried tempeh (tempe goreng)
All in all the food was pretty decent. I guess food tasted better when enjoyed outdoor in a bamboo hut accompanied by fresh air. Definitely an experience you don't want to miss!
