Dusun Bambu - Bandung, Indonesia

Purbasari located by the lake - one of the restaurants at Dusun Bambu
One of the newest attraction in Bandung that was just established the last three years and it's still expanding and improving. It has three restaurants with different concepts, camping area, picnic area and play ground.

It's a bit out of town from Bandung itself and I'm not sure if it can be reached by public transport. Hire a car with driver or drive yourself with a GPS to help you get there. We drove there using Google maps as aid and it helped a lot. Just make sure you get a local SIM card. I used XL Asiata (but don't remember which program since there were so many of them).

Anyhow, the drive there goes through village roads, markets etc. At one point I was a bit worry that we might have missed a turn because there were not too many signs pointing to Dusun Bambu. But we used Google maps before in Bandung and know that it's reliable.
Walkway to Lutung Kasarung - look at the 'nests' on the left/right hand side

Walkway to Lutung Kasarung - experience eating on top of tree !

We got there around 12ish and was about time to start lunch. It was Wednesday but apparently there were a lot of people who took day off to visit Dusun Bambu as well. From the parking lot we took a colorful open air mini van to go up to the site.

Dusun Bambu has three different restaurants with different concepts. Purbasari offers experience to eat by the lake side. Lutung Kasarung has unique individual nests that gives privacy and Cafe Burangrang which offers more relaxed, cafe like setting with comfortable day beds to lay on. The names Purbasari and Lutung Kasarung came from the local Sundanese folklore while Burangrang was named after the local mountain which can be viewed from Dusun Bambu.
