Tasty Pot - San Jose

Inspired by a recent posting on Facebook regarding Boiling Point brought me to Tasty pot on Story Road in San Jose. It’s been a long time since we ever visited any hot pot restaurant. So I was curious to give it a try.

We got there on Saturday afternoon and the restaurant wasn’t too busy. In my opinion, their location wasn’t the best. At the corner with at least another 5 more businesses around and very limited parking space could probably drive people away. A lot of yelpers suggested to park at Grand Century Mall next door so we did.

I ordered the kimchee dumpling pot and hubby got the thai flavor pot. We both got very spicy and we glad we did. We like our food spicy but in our opinion this wasn’t too spicy. It didn’t give you that burning sensation that much that you need milk to wash it away. It was just nice for us. The lunch set comes with free tea with the options of tea or green tea. We didn't know about it until we looked at the menu. But the girl who came to ask for the drink orders didn't tell us about it until later on when we asked her about it.

There were 2 containers of sauces available on the table. One with soy sauce and the other was chili sauce. Mix those two together and you're good to go. This mixture was good for dipping sauce in case you found the tofu or veggie weren't flavored enough.

All in all I found the hot pot was more than enough for 1 person. So in the future, we may just share one pot and order extra rice instead.
