Revisited : Zeni Ethiopian Restaurant, San Jose

The dishes were served on a big platter with the injera bread as under lining.
Tried this restaurant about 2 years ago. This time we had some visitors from out of town and decided to give them a different cuisine to try.

We were there on Friday night after Thanksgiving. The restaurant was pretty busy during dinner time. We got a table on one of those lower ethnic table next to the guy playing live music. I didn't even know that they have live music. It could be new or it could be only on a certain night which we didn't get to experience last time.

Since we didn't quite enjoy some of the dishes we got before so we decided not to order the combo. We got more heads this time so we got more people giving opinions. In the end we settled with 4 meat dishes and 1 chickpea dish. And I actually enjoyed it way better this time.

I think the dishes we ordered were shuro wot (chickpea dish), ye doro wot which was made of chicken drumstick with spices and served with egg and home made cheese. Another chicken dish was called ye doro kitfo which was made of ground chicken and cooked with spices. And the last one was tibs firfir which was cubed lean beef sauteed with onion, tomato and green pepper.
