Motel 6 Redding South- Redding

Motel 6 was our choice to spend a night in Redding. For a smaller town like Redding I was suprised that the accommodation cost was actually pretty high. I guess because it's still in California though hours away from Bay Area. Our room a night at Motel 6 in Redding cost about $80 which I think was pretty decent and among the cheaper side compared to others that could run all the way to more than $100.

The neighborhood where it is located felt more residential though we came through a local road after a stop by a local restaurant to pick up our dinner. The next day we found out that it's actually a stone throw away from I-5.

There was a swimming pool which was a plus for families with younger kids. The day we checked in the temperature was close to 90 degrees so the pool was busy. It's a decent size pool so it didn't feel too crowded with even a few families there.

We got a room towards the back just after the pool. Our room had a bright orange accent wall with a night stand next to one side of it. Next to it was a table and a chair. Across from the bed was a mirror with a flat screen TV hung  over a desk and another chair. Just outside the bathroom was the sink with decorative yellow towel holder. I have noticed a similar design at another Motel 6 we used last year in Roseburg, OR.

I didn't notice too many amenities not that we needed one. The TV has lots of channels to satisfy the whole family which was also a plus. We are not coffee drinker so didn't care for any coffee maker. We were just surprised that wifi comes at additional charge starting at $2.99 for 24 hours. We didn't sign up so couldn't comment on the speed nor reliability.

Happy with this establishment and will definitely stop by again if we are in the area.
