Bon Crepe - Vancouver, BC

Green tea ice cream with red bean paste
Robson street in downtown Vancouver is a major tourist destination. One of the indicators is the varieties of cuisine available. On this trip to Robson we found this little tiny place that sells very yummy matcha ice cream.

This place was literally just a hole in the wall - well, more like a window opens to a tiny kitchen area. The picture of the azuki matcha ice cream (green tea ice cream with red bean) caught our eyes. We stopped and saw that they also serve crepes.

The price of the crepes varied between CAD6.00 - CAD 7.00. I picked a chicken mayonaise crepe and hubby got the matcha ice cream with azuki. The wait was less than ten minutes. The crepe was wrapped in a very pretty pink color paper and the top looked like a blossoming flower. Surprisingly it wasn't very hot. Maybe it got cold because of the chicken and the mayo on it ?

One bite into it and the flavor was pretty mild. The chicken was just simply roasted with probably just light seasoning. Mayo on the crepe added a bit flavor and some crunch came from a few leaves of lettuce wrapped in the crepe. It's pretty satisfying because I was just looking for some snack to munch on. This crepe wasn't heavy at all.

Chicken with mayo crepe - looked like a blossoming flower

The ice cream was served on a plastic cup with the red bean paste very obvious on one side. The green tea ice cream swirled around it and topped off with the cream and dust of matcha green tea powder. One bite into it and I decided it's the best matcha ice cream I had. It's very creamy and rich which was quite unexpected from Japanese ice cream. Definitely worth it.
