Soy House - Bellingham, Washington

A coworker told me about Bellingham waterfront and a park close by that's pretty nice. So I thought let's check it out. Didn't know the name of the park but I found this park close to waterfront area and decided to check out the area. And I found Soy House next to the park and read the reviews are decent.

We got there just around lunch time. I think we most likely were the first customer. I was surprised when the host that greeted us by the door was actually a young caucasian guy. I assumed that Soy House being a Vietnamese restaurant is run by a family. But the place is more like PF Chang in US or like Brown's Social House in Vancouver area. They serve mostly Vietnamese dishes but they also do alcohol. The restaurant is a stand alone building that's why it's very bright on a nice sunny day. It also has its own huge parking lot. There is a patio seating which could accommodate bigger group as well.

We ordered the beef noodle soup and the Saigon noodle soup along with 2 order of fresh roll. The waitress was nice enough to inform us that the fresh roll order only has 1 roll cut into 2. So we decided to order 2 instead.

The beef noodle soup had enough protein with broth that's tasty and flavorful without leaving you a thirsty feeling afterwards. I noticed the beef was smaller pieces and the beef ball was sliced thinner instead of halved or whole like some other noodle places. The Saigon noodle soup had options of egg or rice noodle and served with roasted pork slices and green onion topping.

The fresh roll tasted like freshly made roll though the skin was cold instead of warm, maybe. Our only complaint was the sauce was a bit too diluted so it's not as flavorful and didn't stick to the roll as well.
