Take Out : La Ruota Pizza - Vancouver, BC, Canada

We ordered two pizza for pick up during lunch time. Loved the ordering site, very user friendly and I'm pretty sure guarantee no misunderstanding or miscommunication. 😉 Pollo excelente 18in pizza and Hawaiian 14in pizza were ready for pick up within 20 minutes.

What we didn't know when we placed our orders was La Ruota specializes in Neapolitan style pizza. According to wikipedia "the genuine Neapolitan pizza dough consists of wheat flour, natural Neapolitan yeast or brewer's yeast, salt and water. The dough is always fat-free and sugar-free." Also "and may be no more than 3 millimeters (0.12 in) thick." And "The pizza must be baked for 60–90 seconds in a 485 °C (905 °F) wood-fired oven."

I like my pizza crust thicker and with more cheese. This Neapolitan style pizza definitely didn't fit that. If you look at the photo above, our pizzas were pretty burnt. Obviously when they were baked in a 485 °C. So I guess we won't be ordering pizza there anymore. But I must say that their 18in pizza was pretty big though for $32.
