This restaurant was located on a smaller road just behind our hotel. The place looked new and clean. The menu was small. Chicken rice with boiled chicken or chicken rice with fried chicken. Or if you're like hubby, you'd order the mixed version. Great choice since you'd get different texture when you eat it.
When we visited that day, the place was quiet. It's just passed lunch time. So we picked a table inside and waited for our orders to be prepared. A plate of boiled chicken with chicken rice for me. Another mixed chicken of fried and boiled chicken with rice for hubby. We also received two bowls of soup. Each plate of rice with chicken also came with a piece of chicken blood and two pieces of cucumber.
I took a spoonful of the rice. The rice was soft with a hint of saltiness. Not overly cooked to being mushy but also not too dry either. The boiled chicken was still a bit warm which was perfect for me. Boneless chicken with the right amount of seasoning. Not too bland and not too salty. There was a small saucer included on our plate with some chili mixture. It's sweet, tangy and salty all mixed together. A bit garlic and hint of ginger. Hubby put some of the chili mixture on his rice.
The deep fried chicken was crispy. The batter was not too thick. Just right and crispy. I think this version is better than the barbecue version which is usually served as an option along with boiled chicken. But if you're health conscious like me, you'd stick with boiled chicken.😅
