After one week at another Airbnb in the Ara Damansara area. We checked out and moved to a different area of Petaling Jaya. This Airbnb is located at Atria Shopping Mall. Atria shopping mall has an interesting set up. A shopping mall in the middle with two towers of mixed residential and office space. I'm not sure I have seen that before.
Anyway, we checked in with no issue. The instruction was pretty standard. Check in with the guard and then retrieve keys from mail box. Check in was considered done. We reached our apartment and was pretty happy with the size. This unit was definitely more spacious compared to the previous one at H2O Residences.
But the view out the window wasn't as nice as this one look over the roof of the mall below. 😅The kitchen at this location is bigger therefore the microwave was already set up on the counter. At our previous Airbnb the counter space wasn't big enough so the microwave was hidden in the cabinet. 😉
There's plenty of options for food. Atria shopping mall has lots of restaurants to choose from. But at the end we actually only ate once at the mall ! Most of the times we would walk to another local kopitiam just down the road. There was also a food court with plenty of mixed rice stalls. This food court is located at a shorter building just across from the entrance of our building. During lunch hours all these mixed rice stalls were busy with office workers who work close by.
During our stay there we figured out an easier way to take train. There are two buses that pass by Atria. One of them passes Taman Gembira LRT station. We happened to figure that out accidentally one evening on a way back from checking out another neighborhood. Our bus passed by a LRT station which I noted was Taman Gembira !
At the end of the day, this Airbnb was not bad. There were plenty of hangers so we had no issue drying our clothes in the apartment. But this listing doesn't have Netflix. Another issue which almost causes an overflow in the apartment was the washer. Somehow the washer draining hose wasn't connected to any outflow. When I first did a wash I was puzzled as the washer stopped midway. We tried to turn it off and restarted again. It refilled and started the cycle but then stopped midway again. This time the water level in the washer was almost to the top. That's when I noticed a hose holed up on top of the washer. We quickly brought it all the way to the shower area of the bathroom and all the water finally found an outlet.
Swimming pool and gym are located at 5th floor. Gym equipment were a bit old but functional. AC wasn't cold enough so most of the times users open the windows to let in fresh air. Swimming pool is sort of indoor though within open air. Pool is a bit narrow and probably considered small for serious swimmers. But while we were there, it was hardly busy.
