On our first visit to Phuket town we saw this restaurant at the entrance of the road to our hotel. It seemed to be only opened until mid day. We didn't have a chance to try it then. So this time we decided to do it. Especially on the day we needed to transfer to a different hotel. We checked out and left our luggage at the hotel and walked to this restaurant.
This restaurant is not very big and the time we went there it was lunch time. Luckily we found a booth table so we could comfortably put our backpacks next to us without blocking other patrons. Then we took our time looking at the menu. In the end we decided on shrimp paste rice for hubby and stir fry squid with kale on rice for me.
Then I noticed a sign on the side introducing a new spicy pork bone soup. We called on the waitress and placed another order. Later on our initial orders arrived but the pork bone soup didn't show up. We waited and thought maybe they forgot about that order. I was going to just let it go when it finally showed up. Too bad I didn't have the photo.
All in all the food was decent. It's on the slightly more expensive side considering the establishment comes with air con. But it was a hot day so it's worth the extra payment. We were not full enough though so on the way back to the hotel we stopped by our regular place and picked up a few sala bao (buns) and khanom jib (shumai).
