We were happy to see that there's a lanzhou ramen shop at Central Festival in Chiang Mai. This is relatively new because we were here last year and didn't see that. While we stayed in the area we made sure to make plan to give it a try.
One afternoon we went to check it out. It was just right over lunch time. The place isn't very big so it's pretty easily filled up. We happened to take the last table close to the entrance. Well, it's still inside the mall. There were a few chairs lined outside for people to wait for tables.
The man who sat us down gave us the menu. He spoke mandarin well. We decided on our order pretty fast. Hubby got the beef noodle soup with thin noodle and I got the dry version also with thin noodle. There were a few types of noodle available. Meanwhile the master was behind the glass room whipping out noodle for the patrons waiting patiently for their share of bowl of noodle.
When we received our bowl of noodles then we realized that our soup version would have been better with a slightly thicker noodle. We got the thinnest noodle for both. The thinnest noodle worked well with the dry version. But with the hot soup, we feel that we needed to eat faster or else the noodle will get mushy.
Wow we loved the noodle. It's so smooth. I am usually on low carb diet but that day I just had to cheat since the noodle was so yummy. And the portion was huge too.
