A Small Town Called Jambi - Indonesia
In this travel around Indonesia we visited Jambi, a town in Sumatra Island. It's an hour by plane from Soekarno Hatta Airport (CGK). Alternatively one could also go by land though I'm not sure if there's a straight bus from Jakarta. The plane tickets cost about IDR 2 million per person round trip (USD 121.62). It's not cheap, in my opinion, compare to let's say ticket from Jakarta to Kuching, Malaysia which cost about IDR 1.8 million (USD 109).
So why go to Jambi ? It's my parents' hometown. I lived there for some part of my life which I don't remember much. But we still have lots of relatives there. So this trip was about visiting relatives and old friends ! 😍
Is there any sightseeing in Jambi ? Yes, if culture and history is your cup of tea then Jambi has temples and museums for you. I found some man made attractions pretty close to Jambi town that could be reached by car within one hour driving.
So what did we do while visiting ? Since it's about families then it's visiting relatives and eat. It's very similar to Chinese New Year that just passed. Between the visits we got feasts at restaurants and hotel breakfast buffets. 😋
