This is one of the restaurants in the neighborhood of our Airbnb at Riverine. It's across the street on the other side of the round about. In fact, it's one of the restaurants that we could literally see from our balcony. 😀
We had that restaurant under our list of restaurants to try. We finally made it there on our last day at Riverine. It was a hot afternoon as we walked to that restaurant. There was no air conditioner so we found a table that was more shaded and set up on the sidewalk of the restaurant.
We studied their menu and decided on what to order. Hubby wanted braised pork rice. I wanted to try their kwechap since that's their specialy. A special bowl would get me 5 types of meat. Interesting so I could pick and choose the cut I want. Great.
I think for the amount they charged RM 13 (USD 3.09) is a very decent deal. In terms of volume it looked more than the Carpenter Street kwechap. Taste wise is comparable and this bowl came with fried shallot.
Hubby's braised pork rice was served on a bowl with all the chopped up braised pork as topping along with preserved mustard green (hamchoi or 咸菜). He also received a bowl of soup with his braised pork rice. His soup looked just like the broth in my kwechap bowl.
