Japan Trip Day 7 : We Will Miss Japan !

Breakfast at Matsuya
Sky was gloomy when we woke up in the morning. I opened the rolling glass door to the balcony just to see how the weather looked outside. Just a bit drizzle and humid.

We got ready and went for breakfast next door at Matsuya. We've been to another Matsuya in Osaka and enjoyed the Japanese style breakfast there. It came with a bowl of rice, a bowl of miso soup, a slice of salmon,  a side of pickle veggie and a piece of tofu. Simple and healthy.

Then we continued to Don Quijote (Donki) in Shinjuku. Ran across a young Japanese guy who seemed to have trouble standing straight after a night of party. Later we came across another group of Japanese men and one of them requested a hug from hubby. They sure know how to party.

We came back to our Airbnb apartment and packed up the last of the item that we bought and then headed out. The drizzling rain turned into shower. It's a good thing the subway station was not too far away. We made it to Keisei Ueno and got our tickets from the vending machine since the ticket window had a long line.

It took about one hour by Keisei Skyliner train to reach Narita. The train had assigned seats and luggage area. Though the luggage area didn't seem adequate to store every's luggage in that cart.

The first thing we did as soon as we arrived at Narita was to get drinks using our Suica cards. The reason was we wanted to get the most refund back. Please see the article here. Basically you want to bring down the balance of your suica card to below 220 yen.

There were so many selections for food at Narita. Coming from SF Bay Area, both SJC and SFO are pale in comparison when it comes to food options. And to top it of the prices were all pretty reasonable. It took us a while before we could decide on what to eat. It's going to be our last meal in Japan for this trip so we wanted to make sure we tried the food we haven't. In the end we went to this restaurant that had the most selections on their window display. It's for travelers who could not decide. We ordered pork tonkatsu (deep fried pork cutlets), tempura and takoyaki. Couldn't leave Japan without trying another round of takoyaki.

For those who have not shopped enough, there were more stores for last minute shopping at Narita. Even Uniqlo had a store there with items that were very decently price. I bought one printed rayon pants for 1000 yen (USD 9).

We finally checked in and still had a few more hours to spend inside the terminal since our flight wasn't until 6 pm. So we went from one vending machine to another checking out what options they had. I miss the vending machines already !
