We were going to wing it and spend a night at the airport. But we were glad that we didn't. For a small price at Lutel we were able to get a decent room though with shared bath and toilet.
Lutel Hotel is located within MRT line coverage and a short walk afterwards. Another reviewer of the hotel mentioned that it took them about USD10 to get there by taxi. We spent about less than USD2 with MRT (train). The walk was about 15 minutes relaxing walk. In the end it depends on how much luggage you have with you.
The hotel had a small English sign which I almost missed. The lobby was tiny. But they were very efficient in checking us in though we just made a reservation like 30 minutes earlier. There were a few items for sale (eg instant noodle and bottled tea). I inquired about bottled water and was told they were free and to to help ourselves. That's amazing.
The women bath and toilet was downstairs and mens was upstairs. Both were very clean. Womens bath got essential oil diffuser that made me felt like in spa.
Our room though small but had high ceiling and big windows to give it a bigger feel. It was one of the best rooms we stayed on this trip. AC was cold and wifi was strong. Bread and toast with hot milo was provided as free breakfast. That's more than sufficient for us since we needed to leave earlier to go back to airport.
Will definitely go back if we need to spend a night close to Taipei Taoyuan airport.
