Grids Sapporo Hotel + Hostel - Sapporo, Japan

I was looking forward to staying at this place since it's a hostel/hotel with shared bathroom. I like to save money while travelling but also didn't want to get stuck in a dirty hotel/hostel for a couple of days. But I chose to make a reservation here because the reviews were good and the pictures looked good and it's Japan ! Especially we have experienced staying at a older hotel (read my review of Hotel Taiyo in Osaka) so I don't think we could be surprised anymore.

Grids Sapporo is located on Tanukikoji Shopping Street which is a stretch of stores and restaurants and one of the tourist spots in Sapporo. When I made the reservation I didn't know about the location that's why we were a bit confused when we were looking for the hotel. The sign can easily be missed among shops and restaurants on Tanukikoji.

Location wise, this hotel/hostel couldn't be better. Restaurants, convenient stores, ATMs just a few minutes walk away. The room was very tiny though. We got a private bunk bed room with shared bathroom. The room was pretty much just for the bunk bed with a small area about a foot wide. Just enough to slip our bag pack and suitcase in. We did get a sink with hand soap and hair dryer. That's good enough for the room. Toilet and bath room are outside. Both very clean with soap and shampoo provided.

The living room/eating area is located on second floor just behind the reception area. Very cozy and inviting. Big enough for like twenty people. Though every one comes and goes at different time so we hardly see it full. Teas and coffee are provided whole day. Refrigerator available to keep your perishable. One could also cook there if they feel like it.
