We have relatives coming this weekend and they suggested we went to dinner at this sushi restaurant. We got a reservation for 7:30 and was afraid that we were running late. When we got there the restaurant wasn't too full. They had some outdoor seating that was all taken. Inside lighting was a bit dim and music was pretty loud. The decor was interesting, sort of Halloween like themed with giant octopus, black lights, skeleton, etc.

The menu was pretty big with lots of different sushi roll options with funky names like Bob Marley, Drunken Monkey and Electric Banana. For starter our group of seven shared agedashi tofu which is deep fried creamy silky tofu served with light sauce made of dashi, rice wine (mirin) and soy sauce.

Then our sushi order arrived in a big platter. For the first round we got San Francisco, Godzilla, Aloha and Crazy Spice. Our group liked Godzilla because of the crunchy topping so we got that on the second round. Out of the spicy rolls that we got for the first round, I personally liked Crazy Spice because of that spicy sauce they put on top. Couldn't quite figured what sauce that put on. Not just some so called spicy mayo but stronger than that.

Other than the roll on second round, we wanted something more substantial. So we got chicken katsu curry and pork donburi bowl. The chicken katsu curry had option of level of spiciness and we picked level 5 out of 7, I think. It turned out to be just right and not too spicy. It's chicken katsu curry so the chicken was fried with some sort of breading and it was crunchy on the outside and then served with rice and curry sauce. Very nice actually. Though hubby complaint that the rice was a bit too hard.

The pork donburi was just okay. I wasn't too keen on mushy stuff and I felt that donburi was just a bit too wet.

Tips
All in all a good place to go as a group. Make sure to make reservation to avoid wait. Though it wasn't too busy when we went there on Friday night. The music could be pretty loud inside so if you want to be able to converse asked for a table outside.
