Olive & Anchor - Horseshoe Bay

It's been a while since I actually had any restaurant food. This time we decided to have this mini road trip. 😊. I did bring a bit homemade banana bread and other homemade snacks. So my plan was just to try a bit of the food.

By the time we reached Horseshoe Bay it was passed 1 pm. This restaurant has a nice view of the waterfront. There was patio seating and from what I could see patio seating were popular. All taken. But we were not planning on eating in anyway. So we just ordered to take out.

This restaurant has a take out window. One order of calamari and one order of fish and chips were placed on their take out window. That's a very smart idea actually. Most people like to order their food and go for a picnic out in the park in front. Like what we did. And specially for family with kids. The park in front actually has a small playground area. I would imagine most family would do take out instead of sitting in for a meal.

The calamari came with a wedge of lemon and tzatziki sauce on a bit of romaine lettuce and topped of with slices of red onion. The calamari was fried just right and not chewy. The seasoning was light - maybe some very light salt and chili powder ?

The fish and chips were made with Pacific Cod. The dipping sauce looks like a gooey form of Thousand Island. Not very good. So we chose our tzatziki instead for the fish and good 'ol ketchup for the fries. The fish was good and tasted fresh. Not fishy. The fries were better than expected. Surprisingly crispy.
