Went with our family on our first night together in Cenang Beach, Langkawi. Apparently the other family member has been there quite a few times. Often enough for the staff there to remember them.
This restaurant only opens for dinner. So if one passes by during morning or afternoon time most likely wouldn't be able to tell what kind of restaurant operates there. We did pass by that morning and didn't think much about it. But that night when we went there, the atmosphere was different. Each tables got soft light from candles. There were some outdoor seating with water sound coming from the fish tank in front of the restaurant.
We ordered crab, nyonya fish, beancurd with veggies, chicken satay, stir fry kangkong and an appetizer consisted of prawn crackers. The chicken satay and crab stood out. The crab was fresh but took time to enjoy. The nyonya fish surprisingly didn't wow me at all. In fact it was a bit bland. I would expect a nyonya style fish would be more flavorful than that.
Total bill including six beers came to about RM 450 (USD 100).
