Khao Tom Pla 164

Another day another rice porridge place. This one was brought to our attention by a friend who works there. That was our original destination the previous day but then got distracted by another place. 😄

Like most restaurants in Chiang Rai, parking is always challenging. That's why we decided to go earlier. It was maybe around 5:30 pm when we arrived there for dinner. There were two tables occupied. But one of the tables ordered a lot so our orders took a while to be fulfilled.

This porridge place didn't do any separated dishes. Whatever protein you want would have to be part of your bowl. You could have your porridge "dry". 😅 That's what I was told. And I was like "huh" ? Okay, let's try a dry porridge then with pork stomach and intestine. Hubby ordered a salmon porridge.

One of our friends didn't like rice, so he got a mama soup (instant noodle soup) which came with some minced pork meatball. The other two friends like fish so they ordered grouper cooked with spices on top of rice (dry porridge). 

I like my order of dry porridge with pork stomach. It came with a scrambled egg. The whole ensemble just worked out together. Hubby's salmon porridge was good according to him. But they were pretty stingy with the salmon. His salmon porridge cost THB 100 (USD 3.42). I guess I couldn't really complain of the amount of salmon ! 😂 My pork stomach rice cost THB 90 (USD 2.57).
