One thing I noticed about this hotel was it's sitting on side of a mountain. It's built on uneven ground. So the lobby was on 7th floor and most rooms are on lower floor. It's sort of unique in that sense. Also parking is perhaps limited that's why valet parking was suggested. It's free by the way but of course we always tip the staff helping.
When we checked in, I was surprised that the front desk person asked to see our Agoda confirmation. Apparently they perhaps didn't have the correct room type indicated so they wanted to make sure they gave us the correct room type ? Or they just needed to confirm it ? Either way I found it a hassle since we were never asked before. Also the front desk mentioned that they didn't have hair dryer in the room but if we needed one we could request one. Really, an Aston hotel ?
With all those we were pleasantly surprised to see our room with the amenities and the decor. True, our room faced "a wall" which rendered it viewless but at least inside the room was all pleasant. The hotel was relatively new only a couple years old.
The ground area where the swimming pool was located was beautifully manicured. The grass was kept short and pleasant to walk on if one decided to do so. For those who like a bit challenged could walk down to a lower land where plenty of strawberry shrubs were located. Not just strawberries, I noticed lime and avocado trees as well. The terrain made it a bit hiking challenge perfect as morning exercises.
